Nick Smith jr. becomes a Real Madrid player

The 22 year old guard heads his talent overseas as the Los Angeles Lakers declined their option team on Nick Smith, leaving him as a free agent.

Real Madrid has completed the signing of American guard Nick Smith Jr., with the 22-year-old agreeing to a one-year contract with the Spanish giants. Smith arrives in Madrid after spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he appeared in 30 NBA games and averaged 6.2 points per game. The former 27th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft will now begin the next chapter of his career in Europe, bringing his scoring ability and NBA experience to Real Madrid’s backcourt.

The American experienced 3 years at the NBA as he got drafted as the 27th pick in the 2023 NBA draft. He played for the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers. His rookie year in The Hornets he averaged 5.9 points per game but in his second year he almost averaged double digits by having a standard 9.9 points per game. He also averaged 6.2 points per game when he was playing for the Lakers.
