PIR, Explained: The Only Stat That Matters for EuroLeague Fantasy
By FantasyHoops Editorial · 15 August 2026
If you're new to EuroLeague Fantasy, the single most important number to understand is PIR — Performance Index Rating. Unlike most fantasy basketball games that blend multiple scoring categories, EuroLeague's own fantasy game is built entirely around it.
How PIR is calculated
PIR is a simple sum:
(Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks Drawn + Fouls Drawn)
− (Missed Shots + Turnovers + Blocks Against + Fouls Committed)
It rewards efficient, all-around production and penalizes empty volume — a player who scores 20 points on poor shooting can post a lower PIR than a role player who does a bit of everything efficiently.
How to use it
Check the Fantasy Tools page and sort by PIR. Look for players whose PIR is climbing relative to their minutes — that's usually the earliest signal of an emerging waiver-wire target before the wider fantasy community catches on.
We'll be publishing weekly PIR risers and fallers here throughout the season.
